Think garlicky prawns and globe artichokes and you will have the perfect wine to accompany the meal.

Wine of the Week

This week we are featuring Vino del Vida Merlot.

Merlot is a medium bodied red with flavors and aromas of black cherry, berries, plum and chocolate with a lovely herbal undertone.  The softer, fruity characteristics make it pair well with lighter foods such as salmon, mushrooms and shellfish, camembert and gouda cheeses. Because it is low in tannins, Merlot is easy on the palate unaccustomed to red wines.

Originally grown in the Bordeaux region, Merlot grapes are now grown in Napa, Sonoma, Australia and Chili.
